Ocular Coherence Tomography

Ocular coherence tomography (OCT) is a cutting edge technology, which enables eye doctors to discern even the most subtle three dimensional changes in your eye. This technology helps optometrists and ophthalmologists with the early detection of eye disease, in monitoring the progression of a disease and when or if to consider a referral to a sub-specialist.

Our office embraces this technology and routine imaging and retinal photography are now a component of our regular eye examinations. It allows our doctors to more objectively monitor retinal, macular and optic nerve changes over time. Also, should you ever relocate from the KW area; we can provide you with your images to pass on to your new eye care practitioner.

A few of the most common conditions, which OCT’s are exceptionally valuable in detecting anatomical changes include:

  • Age Related Macular Degeneration (ARMD)
  • Diabetes
  • Glaucoma
  • Retinal Anomalies

Vision loss is, for many of us, a most fearful concern. Our doctors pride themselves in routinely dilating their patients, routinely checking for glaucoma and embracing technology to provide the best Optometric care.
